what isfoot zoning?

Foot Zone Therapy often called “Foot Zoning” or “Zone Therapy”is a holistic practice developed by Dr. Charles Ersdal. It’s similar to reflexology, but goes a step further.

The idea is that the feet and ankles hold “signals,” or mapped zones, that connect to every part of the body — organs, systems, and structures. By working through these zones in a specific sequence, practitioners aim to bring the body back into balance and encourage its natural healing processes.

Unlike traditional reflexology, which mainly focuses on pressure points on the soles of the feet, Ersdal’s approach treats the body as a complete system — physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Each session follows a full map of the feet: the left foot reflects the left side of the body, and the right foot reflects the right.

During a session, a practitioner uses their hands to massage, stimulate, and apply pressure across these mapped areas, helping to activate what Ersdal called the body’s “normal line of health.”
